More to think about than finding a teacher. How about your instrument? Have you had that piano tuned lately? Is that keyboard in a location conducive to good practice habits? What about those guitar and violin strings?
Not only your instrument – do you need a music stand? What about good lighting at the instrument, to help read music easily.
You will also need assignment sheets – my students use a 3 ring binder and copy off assignment sheets – so they can review their assignment and jot down practice times all in one spot.
Don’t forget your music books – and something to carry them in.
